The world's first artificial intelligence (AI) beauty contest has been announced, with artificial models and influencers generated using the technology competing for a $20,000 prize.
Citing the release of the World AI Creator Awards (WAICA), Forbes reported that the popularity of AI influencers will be measured based on the number of engagements they have with fans, viewer growth rate, and platform usage.

According to Forbes, the contest will pit AI-generated “women” against each other in front of a panel of judges, including two AI influencers. The pageant will feature Fanvue, a subscription-based platform that hosts virtual models, as WAICA's partner.
The contest winner “Miss AI” will receive a $5,000 cash prize, plus promotion on the Fanvue platform and public relations (PR) support worth over $5,000. Prizes will also be awarded to the runner-up and third place. The winner of the AI competition will be announced on May 10th, and an online awards ceremony will be held at the end of the same month.
Two members of the four-person panel are AI-generated judges. Aitana Lopez has over 300,000 followers on her Instagram, and Emily Pellegrini has over 250,000 followers on her Instagram. The remaining two judges are human, Forbes reports. They are Andrew Block, an entrepreneur and PR advisor, and Sally Ann Fawcett, a beauty pageant historian and author of Misdemeanors: The Scandal of the Beauty Queens.
Forbes quoted Sally Ann Fawcett as saying, “Expanding our knowledge of AI creators is a fast learning curve, and what's possible is quite incredible.”
According to a report by NDTV, the contest rules state that contestants must be completely AI-generated and there are no restrictions on the tools used. The rules go on to say, “Miss AI welcomes works created from generators of all kinds, including DeepAI, Midjourney, or your own tools.”
