According to the analyst’s 2022 Global Cloud User Survey, 78% of SMBs use the public cloud for at least some of their business applications and data.
This represents a 56% increase from the 2019 survey conducted just before the global COVID-19 pandemic broke out.
SMBs see the cloud as an essential technology for achieving greater business agility, app performance, and security than they can achieve on their own.
Nearly 40% of respondents believe the cloud is the gateway to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and the Internet of Things (IoT). However, SMEs only have a few technical specialists on staff. Nearly half said they were struggling to keep up with new technology, and more than a third said they lacked staff expertise to support digitization.
73% of small businesses say they use third-party partners to support their digital strategy.
