Wimbledon will be the first Grand Slam tournament to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) technology into commentary.
Multinational technology company IBM has been tasked with generating AI captions and voices across the Wimbledon app and website.

“We had tennis experts on the team, so we took their opinion on the language we used. told The Sun.
“In the future, we will see that we can train in different styles, languages and voices, so this is a step on that journey.
“We think AI is very complementary to the human element.”
The technology is also reportedly capable of mimicking broadcast station audio.
Former world No. 1 Maria Sharapova has shown support for the move.
