Jamia Millia Islam (JMI) announced a short-term training program in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). University officials announced similar registrations were underway.
The program is hosted by the university’s computer engineering department and will run for three weeks from July 4th to July 22nd, according to a brochure released by the university.
“The show will air Monday through Saturday from 10am to 1pm. Classes will be held both online and offline,” said the official.
According to the university, the course includes both lectures and hands-on practice under the guidance of experienced professionals.
This course has 80 seats, 30 reserved for offline participants and 50 reserved for online participants, allocated on a “first come, first served” basis.
All students from UG, PG, PhD academics and faculty with a mathematical background are eligible for this course.
This course mainly covers introduction to AI and Python basics, applied data science using Python, machine learning algorithms, deep learning for computer vision using Keras and Tensorflow, and deep learning for natural language processing using Keras and Tensorflow. It consists of 5 modules.
According to the brochure, the course will be taught by JMI’s industry practitioners and experienced faculty, as well as faculty from the IIT, NIT, IIIT and overseas universities.
This course contains a focused curriculum on key AI and ML concepts and techniques. The pamphlet states that the registration fee for Jamia students and scholars is Rs 4,000 and Rs 6,000 for non-Jamia students and scholars.
Lecture resource materials and session slides will be distributed to all students.
“Students will be assessed through various quizzes and assignments throughout the course. Students will also receive a certificate from the university after completing the course,” the official said.
The Department of Computer Engineering was established in 2000. JMI’s Faculty of Engineering Technology ranked him 26th among all engineering universities in India in his NIRF rankings for 2023.
