Have you ever had a great video idea, but it took too much effort to make it happen? Vimeo, a video sharing and editing platform, is using AI to solve that problem .
Vimeo announced Tuesday that it will be adding a suite of AI tools to its platform that will automate much of the video editing process. Features include an AI script generator, teleprompter, and even a text-based video editor.

“AI in video is pushing the boundaries of accessibility. Now, any individual or business can create engaging, professional content in minutes, even with no production experience.” Vimeo Chief Product Officer Ashraf Alkarmi said.
The script generator does exactly what its name suggests. That is, it generates a complete video script from user input, including tone and duration.
TikTok recently added an AI script generator to its own platform. However, while the TikTok integration is aimed at helping businesses create ads, the Vimeo integration is open to any consumer.
To facilitate recording videos with generated scripts, Vimeo has added a teleprompter feature that brings built-in script displays to the platform. Just like in a real TV studio, you can customize the pace and font size of the teleprompter.

Finally, post-production editing is usually the most time consuming part of creating a video. With the goal of saving users time and simplifying the editing process for beginners, Vimeo now has a text-based video editor.
With this feature, users can automatically cut filler words, long pauses, and other unwanted parts with a single button click, eliminating the need to manually edit every detail.
The feature will be available starting July 17th and will be part of Vimeo’s standard plan, the second tier of the company’s paid plans.
