The BCA Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, B.Com in Business Data Analytics, and Diploma and Certificate Programs related to Hair and its Design are among the new courses offered by Mangalore University’s partner universities this year.
The BCA Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is offered by Beary First Grade College, Kodi, Kundapura, Udupi District. At a university academic conference on Monday, the university was allowed to accept 40 students.
The course is also offered at the Canatur Institute of Management Sciences, Delarakatte, Mangaluru and St. Raymond University, Vamanjur, Mangaluru. The Academic Council allowed both universities to accept 60 and 30 students respectively.
The 4-year B.Com in Business Data Analytics course is offered by Beary’s Institute of Emerging Learning and is admitted to 90 students. The course is also offered at Minerva University (formerly Mangalore Fire Safety Engineering Institute) located on the campus of Adiyar. The academic council allowed admission of 80 students.
Minerva University also offers a BBA program in Occupational Health and Safety and is authorized to enroll 80 students.

The Shivas International Institute of Professional Innovation in Delarakatte, Mangaluru offers a certification program in Hair and Beauty Therapy and a Diploma Program in Hair Design and Treatment. At a meeting of the Academic Council held on Monday, Deputy Vice Chancellor Jayaraj Amin said the two new programs are one of three new universities that have applied for admission to the university in 2023-2024. said to be provided by the new institute.
The other two new universities that have applied for university affiliation in 2023-2024 are Vaibhav University, Hangaruru, Kundapura, Udupi District and Sharaf College of Commerce and Arts, Manjanadi, Mangaluru.
Among the issues discussed at a special meeting of the Academic Council was the University’s Provincial Commission of Inquiry opposing the renewal of the affiliation of AIMS First Grade College in Kabaka Putulu due to lack of classrooms for B.Com and BA courses. It contained the recommendations of the Society.
Amin said the university should submit a construction completion certificate for the new building by August. A committee will review the new building and if it is satisfactory, the institute’s affiliation will be renewed, he said.
