It’s a hot time for bots, digital and otherwise. In March, Instacart announced it would be adding OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot technology to its app, piggybacking on the efforts of many other companies doing the same. Salt Lake City-based Associated Food Stores is now deploying AI robots in its distribution centers, and SpartanNash is expanding its use of Tally, an autonomous inventory robot.
ChatGPT and AI technology are almost everywhere in grocery stores. And the technology doesn’t cool off anytime soon.
In today’s TechWire edition of the SN Off the Sheet podcast, Chloe Riley, editor of Supermarket News, sits down with Prashant Agrawal, CEO of AI solutions company Impact Analytics, to discuss the importance of AI in grocery stores (and ChatGPT’s of new importance).
In this episode you will learn:
- What Grocers Think About ChatGPT and How They Can Leverage It Regularly
- Some of the pain points retailers can solve with AI
- How AI can help inventory management
- AI and Pricing — What assumptions grocers make about pricing and how AI can help with pricing strategies
- Is AI an Available Solution for Independent Grocers?
- How AI trends are expected to continue in 2023
