Commission for Building the Future

The Building the Future Commission is a year-long project to mark the Building’s 180th anniversary, evaluating potential solutions and radical new ways of thinking to improve the built environment.
The work of this major project will be guided by a committee of 19 key persons who have signed on to help shape the work of the committee, which will culminate in a report to be published at the end of the year.
Commissioners include luminaries from the worlds of contracting, housing development, architecture, policymaking, skills, design, placemaking, infrastructure, consulting and law. See the full list here.
The project is considering proposed changes in eight areas:

Building the Future also conducts national tours of roundtables with regional experts as part of a consultative program in partnership with the regional divisions of industry association Constructing Excellence. There is also a youth advisory board.
