Google has announced a new feature called Video Remix for Google Photos that allows users to transform videos with AI-generated effects in just a few taps. Powered by the company’s Gemini Omni model, the feature offers a variety of ready-made templates that allow users to create stylized versions of existing video clips.

Video Remix is available in Google Photos.[作成]tab, from which users can access creative tools to edit and enhance their content. With this new feature, users can apply cinematic relighting to brighten dark footage, replace plain backgrounds with different scenes, and add artistic treatments such as watercolor, raw sketchbook, and oil painting effects.

Google says this feature lets you quickly transform everyday videos using AI-powered templates. For example, users can make a clip look like it was shot inside a greenhouse, add a sunrise with cinematic relighting, or give the video a watercolor look.

In announcing the feature, Google said it aims to simplify the video editing process for users who don’t have professional editing skills. “Creating beautiful video clips doesn’t require professional skills or hours of editing work. With Video Remix in Google Photos, you can turn ordinary videos into share-worthy moments with just a few taps,” the company said in a blog post.

Video Remix is rolling out to eligible Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in select countries. These include the United States, Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, and Turkey.

This announcement follows the addition of other AI-powered features to Google Photos. The app recently introduced new touch-up tools that allow users to make subtle edits like removing blemishes, improving skin texture, brightening eyes, and whitening teeth. Google also announced an AI-powered feature that turns clothing photos into digital closets, allowing users to create outfit ideas and virtually try on different outfits.
