Organizations can block unauthorized AI tools, redirect employees to approved alternatives, and conditionally grant access based on corporate identity.
Anzenna announced the launch of AI Access Control, a new feature that gives security teams precise, identity-aware control over how employees interact with AI applications. As generative AI tools proliferate throughout the workplace, organizations face increasing risks from unauthorized “shadow AI” use that can expose sensitive data and compromise compliance. Anzenna’s new services are designed to fill that gap without compromising employee performance.

AI Access Control provides administrators with three main enforcement modes:
1. Block unauthorized sites. Anzenna completely prevents access to unauthorized AI applications, keeps employees within a trusted and approved environment, and eliminates a leading source of uncontrolled data leaks.
2. Redirect to an approved tool. Rather than simply blocking and frustrating users, Anzenna automatically routes employees from non-approved tools to approved alternatives, keeping usage within controlled boundaries and productivity.
3. Conditionally allow access by ID. Anzenna applies granular identity-based rules to ensure that AI tools are only accessible to authenticated corporate accounts. You can restrict logins from personal or non-corporate identities, ensuring sensitive data is tied to controlled and responsible users.
“AI has become part of the way people work, but most organizations still don’t have the controls in place to securely manage AI,” said Chinmaya Sharma, Head of Product at Anzenna. “Blank bans don’t work because employees just find another tab. Our approach is to give security teams a precise dial: block what’s risky, direct people to what’s approved, and tie in access to corporate identity. You get security and productivity at the same time.”
This feature is built for environments where AI adoption outpaces governance. By separating corporate and personal identities, Anzenna prevents sensitive data from entering unmanaged accounts, while giving security and IT leaders clear visibility and control over AI usage across their organizations.
