This week, Google released the June 2026 Spam Update. Google said this was a regular spam update, but this time it started a while ago and feels like it was a big one. Yes, we covered what appears to be Google’s update focused on blackhat technology on Sunday. Google Search Console’s AI performance reporting is rolling out to more users. Google’s John Mueller explained when impressions are counted in AI reports. Google also posted a large help document about how the AI controls work in Search Console. Google’s page index report is over 2 weeks late. Google said that when it comes to relocating sites, it is impossible to know the outcome in advance. We are currently testing autocomplete for the Ask Me Anything box in Google AI mode. Google AI Overview is testing a button that directs searchers to a web-only tab. Google Ads tests the strongest match and strong match labels in sponsored results. Google Ads now has new data called unique search categories that include clicks, conversions, and impressions. Google Ads will soon allow you to redirect some final URLs to another domain. Google Ads expands financial advertiser verification across 24 EU markets. Google Ads publishes a text disclaimer to all advertisers. Google Ads is introducing the Maximize Conversion Value bidding feature for standard Shopping campaigns. Google Ads API version 24.2 has been released with new features and security. Reporting of ad requests for Google AdSense multiplex ads has changed. Google Business Profile now has this new Collected Information action button. Google has added a message button powered by an AI agent to business profiles. Google created a new policy document on subscription links for news publishers, but has since removed it. That was the search news at this week’s Search Engine Roundtable.
