Folks, more AI is on the way. Like it or not, more AI adoption isn’t on the horizon, especially when it comes to Adobe, which announced a deal to acquire Topaz Labs, an AI company specializing in industry-leading video and image augmentation models.
This isn’t surprising, as Adobe hasn’t been shy about moving towards AI in recent years. However, Topaz Labs has interesting expertise and expertise in this area and could potentially provide even more enhancement tools for both AI and non-AI filmmakers and video professionals.

Adobe acquires Topaz Labs
Announced as a “definitive agreement to acquire” Topaz Labs, the goal here is apparently to enhance Adobe’s AI tools and technology by expanding its offering of video and image models with cutting-edge AI-enhanced models across Adobe Firefly, Firefly Services, and even Creative Cloud apps.

For those familiar with Topaz Labs, the company has built its name by offering a wide range of advanced AI models for image and video enhancement that can analyze and improve existing visual content by sharpening details, removing noise, and restoring footage.
More AI on the way
The goal here seems to be just for Adobe to continue doubling down on its AI platforms, tools, models, and workflows as it tries to stay ahead of its competitors in the AI space. along with recent ones Agent update to Adobe FireflyAdobe is working hard to track this emerging industry.
But both companies are committed to continuing to focus on filmmakers and creators as tools, not replacements.
