Fika Jobs raised $4 million to build a video-first recruiting platform where AI agents interview candidates. This startup wants to change the way people apply for jobs. Instead of sending a paper resume, you will have a 10-minute video conversation with an AI interviewer. The AI converts your answers into short video clips that employers can watch. This Fika Jobs funding is a pre-seed round, the first big check raised by the young startup.
The idea is simple. Resumes are dull and difficult to compare. Short videos show personality, energy, and communication skills that cannot be expressed in text. Fika Jobs is based in Stockholm, Sweden and is run by two brothers. Here’s how the platform works and why investors back it.
Who is behind Fika Jobs?
Fika Jobs was founded by two brothers, Jakob Dubois and Alexander Dubois. Jacob is the CEO, which means he heads the company. Alexander is the CTO, Chief Technology Officer, leading the engineering side. The team is small for now, but plans to expand to around 10 people by the end of the year.
The $4 million round was led by Luminar Ventures. “Directed” means that the investor makes the largest contribution and sets the terms. Other backers also attended, including Alliance VC and two big names in the gaming world: Sebastian Knutsson and Riccardo Zacconi, co-founders of King, the studio behind Candy Crush.

How AI agents interview candidates
This process is built to be quick and friendly. Candidates first connect to their LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn is a professional network where people list their work history. The AI reads that person’s background and creates questions tailored just for them.
Candidates will then answer these questions in an approximately 10-minute video interview. The AI agent is powered by Google’s Gemini model. Gemini is a type of large-scale language model, which is AI software trained to understand and produce human-like text and speech. After the interview, the system converts your answers into short video clips and compiles them into a neat profile for employers to view.
Why use a video instead of a resume?
Resumes only show what someone chooses to write. A short video shows how they think and speak in the moment. If communication is key to your role, this can help employers narrow down candidates faster. It also levels the playing field for shy or less sophisticated writers, as they are judged on what they say, rather than how they format their documents.
Initial traction and pricing
Fika Jobs is more than just an idea on paper. More than 100 companies are on the waiting list, and more than 50 are already testing the platform. Named testers include Plenty Labs, SICS.ai, Kognity, and Rebtel. The waiting list is a registration line for interested customers and represents actual demand before a full-fledged launch.
Pricing is set to lower barriers. Job seekers can use this service free of charge. Employers do not make any advance payments. In return, Fika receives 10% of each successful hire’s first year’s salary. The company points out that this is lower than the 20% to 30% commissions that traditional recruiters often charge. Therefore, the employer will only pay if the employment actually goes well.
what happens next
Early access will begin in late June 2026, the same week as the announcement. A wider public opening is planned for fall 2026. The startup plans to initially focus on its home market of Sweden, and then expand to other countries. The new funding will help the company hire more engineers, with plans to expand the team to about 10 people by the end of the year.

Why it matters (especially for India/founders)
With millions of people employed in India every year, resumes remain the norm. The video-first model could change campus and large-scale hiring, where employers have to sift through thousands of applicants. AI interviewing can save time and potentially reach out to candidates in small towns who don’t have polished resumes but have real skills.
For the founders, Fika Jobs is a clear example of a smart business model. There are no upfront fees and you only earn money when you hire someone. This “pay for results” approach builds trust and makes it easier to sell. It also shows how startups can build powerful tools cheaply by connecting to off-the-shelf AI like Gemini, rather than building their own tools from scratch.
Take-out
Fika Jobs is betting that video and AI will replace dusty old resumes. With $4 million in the bank, strong backers, and over 100 companies on standby, we have a huge head start. The big test will be reliability. Will candidates feel that AI judged them fairly, and can employers trust the results? If so, it could change the way the world employs people.
