“VDM must face the weight of the law for sharing fake audio of President Tinubu,” the Nigerian president wrote about activist and social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, aka Berry Darkman, circulating AI-generated audio on VDM videos.
On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the Special Adviser on Intelligence and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, cited the X handle of the video post.
Pesin bin added an AI-generated voice note with President Tinubu’s voice to the VDM video.

In the video intro, VDM says: “Please watch the video below because I want to play it. I want to support Bola Tinubu. Please do not move my heart.”

But select the same VDM video and place Oga Tinubu’s AI-generated audio to make it look like you pushed the audio through VDM.
The AI-generated voice of President Tinubu says: “They will try to extricate me from my position, but that is not possible. I tell you, I am going to win the election and I don’t care if things happen. I am running for president, so of course Nigeria. They don’t want me, but now all of a sudden they want me to take them out of their insecurity.”
Inside the AI-generated voice, the voice says, “I call Peter Obi to resign, but he refuses,” and Kong says, “Make sure to tell him that security will further affect the South East.”
Commenting on the doctored video, Onanuga wrote: “VDM must face the full weight of the law, including sharing a fake audio of President Tinubu. The abuse of the social media platform is clear.”
