TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – James Huang, chairman of the Taiwan Foreign Trade Development Council, said this year’s Computex will establish an AI robot section to showcase the innovations of domestic and foreign robot manufacturers and their applications in AI. UDN Reported.

The four-day expo, which will be held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center until June 5, is expected to attract about 1,500 exhibitors. The event will feature dedicated sections showcasing AI computing, robotics, displays, next-generation communications, future mobility, and green energy technologies.

E-paper supplier E Ink, one of the exhibitors, said edge computing is very power-intensive, but e-paper’s ability to hold images without using electricity helps conserve energy for AI processing.

Hiwin Technologies, another exhibitor at the expo, announced that it will unveil a robotic arm for logistics and warehousing applications developed in collaboration with US robot manufacturer Dexterity. The robot has eight joints that can rotate or move, and the company says it can handle loads of different sizes.

Yuan High-Tech Development, also an exhibitor at the event, said it will showcase intelligent surveillance solutions used in drones, robots and self-driving cars. The system combines image capture and edge computing to enable target search and tracking and autonomous patrolling.

Intel announced that it will make its Core Ultra Series 3 platform available to the following companies: force AI computing for robots at events. The company added that the platform enables on-device AI computing for edge applications, enabling faster and more reliable command execution.

Intel will also partner with 12 partners at the expo to set up a robotics and edge computing zone to showcase applications in smart manufacturing and smart living.
