  • Munich-based allO just secured $14 million in Series A funding to replace back-office tasks in restaurants with AI agents.
  • The round was led by Zigg Capital with participation from LifeX Ventures, Aperture, Wecken & Cie and others.
  • The startup plans to release 10 AI agents over the next 12 to 18 months.

Munich-based allO has closed a $14 million Series A round led by Zigg Capital.

Founded in 2020 by Cancan Liu, Teodor Rupi, and Benedikt von Lewinski, allO has built an end-to-end AI-powered operating system for restaurants, covering everything from point of sale and payments to reservations, kiosks, delivery integration, and back-office tools.

“Restaurant owners are the perfect user group for AI. They want to get the job done. They don’t want to learn another software. Most people aren’t tech-savvy and don’t need to be,” said Liu, the startup’s CEO.

“We’re leveraging an all-in-one platform to develop a digital workforce that does the work for you, rather than telling you how to push a button.”

The platform currently serves more than 1,000 active restaurant stores across Germany, and since its seed round in 2024, its presence has grown 6x and revenue has increased more than 3x.

It’s part of a wave of startups using AI agents to increase efficiency in restaurants and the food industry. For example, Choice is using this technology to increase direct delivery orders for restaurants alongside Wolt and Deliveroo. SOUS empowers independent restaurants with their customer journey. Nori also built scheduling, inventory, and performance data tools.

AllO has traditionally focused on international cuisines outside of Germany, which it says is underserved by traditional software, given that it’s not built for multilingual teams, complex modifier menus, and diverse payment behaviors. Now, all cuisines will be able to target the same problems: complex workflows, labor shortages, and tight profit margins.

Building a back-office AI agent

The new funding will be used to expand across Europe as the startup accelerates its rollout of “digital employees” (meaning AI agents that do the work). This is a big change from traditional tools and back-office software for restaurants, which are often dashboards and still need to be managed by restaurant owners.

In parallel with this funding, allO launched a voice-powered AI agent that processes incoming calls and logs reservations and takeout orders directly into the system. This is the first of more than 10 AI agents the company has planned over the next 12 to 18 months. Next up will be AI agents to help with inventory and menus.

LifeX Ventures, Aperture, and Wecken & Cie. also participated in the round, along with existing investors 20VC and Keen Venture Partners.

Elizabeth Crystal, a principal at Zig Capital and former CFO of Momofuku, will join Cornelius Everke, who previously held senior positions at Starbucks, Vapiano and Burger King Germany, and Matt Baumgartner, a former product director at Toast.

“allO is the system I wanted as a Momofuku operator: not only a great POS, but an autonomous operating system that can transform a restaurant’s business,” says Crystal.

“While most AI tools only recognize a small portion of a restaurant’s data, allO recognizes everything. And that enables truly autonomous operations. We believe allO will define the category in Europe and the rest of the world.”
