11 years after the broadcast, Stephen Colbert’s Late Show ‘ ended on Thursday night, sparking emotional reactions from fans on social media.

But Donald Trump showed little signs of nostalgia. The president quickly took to Truth Social and his official X/Twitter account to celebrate the end of the show and launched a series of attacks aimed at the host.

In one post, Trump branded Colbert a “complete asshole” with “no talent, no recognition, no life,” adding, “I’m glad he’s finally gone!”

But attention soon turned to an AI-generated video showing Trump walking up to Colbert, picking him up and throwing him into a trash can. The video then cuts to the president dancing to Village People’s “YMCA” as the crowd cheers him on.

It didn’t take long for people to chime in on the bizarre post, with one person writing: “I can’t believe he’s running this country. What a shame.”

Another person joked: ”donald trump is so mean. I’m waiting for Stephen Colbert to come back because he can’t stay like this. ”

A third suggested: “Someone take his phone away and make him sit in the corner.”

Meanwhile, another person humorously said: “Imagine, in 2015, that one day this is not a movie plot, but just a regular Tuesday.”

CBS announced the end of Stephen Colbert’s Late Show In July last year, it described this as a “purely financial decision against a difficult background in the middle of the night.”

For the final show, Colbert and his crew were joined by former Beatle Paul McCartney to perform “Hello Goodbye.”
