PwC Australia is rolling out a series of actions aimed at embedding inclusion in the way AI is built, implemented and applied across day-to-day and line-of-business operations.
The company has signed up to three measures aimed at promoting gender-balanced and diverse AI output while limiting the risk of bias and “outdated assumptions”.

PwC Australia CEO Kevin Burrows said: “Artificial intelligence draws on historical data. Without proper checks and human judgement, there is a risk that biased AI results will be repeated at scale across operations, decisions, systems and services.”
The initiative is part of a program led by Champions of Change in partnership with Women’s Leadership Institute Australia.
Champions of Change is a coalition of CEOs and senior leaders, and Women’s Leadership Institute Australia focuses on increasing the number and influence of women in leadership.
PwC Australia announced that Mr Burrows, along with other Champions of Change participants and their teams, will be signing on to adopt the Inclusive AI Pledge.
The company is also introducing comprehensive AI prompts through its in-house generative AI platform, ChatPwC.
To guide users toward more inclusive responses, we plan to publish Inclusive AI Prompts as a standard tool in ChatPwC.
In addition, PwC Australia will run a firm-wide engagement campaign.
The campaign aims to demonstrate how comprehensive AI works in practice, encourage widespread adoption among staff, and highlight that fairness in AI is a shared imperative.
Burrows added, “I use Inclusive AI Prompt regularly in my work and am very impressed with the way it provides gender-neutral output and explains changes made based on key criteria.”
PwC Australia said its support for the Inclusive AI Pledge and Inclusive AI Prompt builds on existing work exploring how different groups access and benefit from AI tools.
Its efforts are focused on achieving fair and equitable outcomes as AI adoption accelerates.
The company says it aims to foster a more holistic and trusted approach to AI by combining leadership commitments with practical, rapid and broad internal engagement.
PwC Australia said this direction is consistent with its Inclusion 2030 strategy and its Responsible AI Framework, which includes the Trust by Design model, which aims to support more consistency, transparency and inclusive outcomes in AI-supported work.
PwC recently expanded its partnership with Anthropic to further embed the Claude AI platform across its technology.
