AI/technology utilization workshop held in Kohima

A one-day workshop on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technology for Nagaland Tribal Affairs Directorate staff was organized by Nagaland Tribal Research Institute (TRI) on May 18 at Kohima Tribal Affairs Directorate Conference Hall. The main objectives of this workshop are to enhance digital knowledge through the latest technological tools, improve the efficiency of office work and raise awareness about the growing role of artificial intelligence in governance, management, communication and data management.

The resource person was Seto Kate, a senior technical expert supported by Bendang IT experts. During the program, resource personnel highlighted basic concepts of AI, practical applications of AI tools in office management, report writing, drafting official letters, data analysis, presentation preparation, and digital record management. Special emphasis was also placed on the ethical use of AI in government functions, cybersecurity, and data privacy.

Thirty-five department officials and staff actively participated in the workshop and participated in hands-on sessions demonstrating the use of AI-enabled applications and digital productivity tools. Participants expressed strong interest in adopting technology-driven approaches to improve transparency, accuracy, and timely delivery of services.

The program was moderated by Project Assistant Tekhinri Sangtam, and the keynote speech was delivered by K. Onglingaku Chang, Project Officer of TRI Nagaland.

The workshop successfully concluded with a recommendation to organize similar capacity development programs on a regular basis to strengthen the digital capabilities and technological adaptability of government employees.
