Scott said that among the skills and qualifications best suited for cybersecurity roles in modern organizations, professionals skilled in incident management, threat hunting and forensics are in high demand, particularly at TCS.
“The demand for OT security is also increasing. In-demand industry-recognized certifications include OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), and CISM (Certified Information Security Manager).”
Jaddi noted that while traditional cybersecurity skills will still be in high demand in 2026, Rent the Runway is increasingly seeking professionals who combine technical expertise with business acumen.
According to him, the most sought-after qualifications within organizations today fall into three main categories: AI and machine learning security, cloud and application security, and finally risk management and communications.
Regarding AI and machine learning security, Jadi explained that as AI becomes more integrated into workplace operations, Rent the Runway needs qualified professionals with the necessary skills to understand the inherent vulnerabilities of machine learning models and embed security throughout the AI lifecycle.
“With the proliferation of SaaS applications and cloud infrastructure, we need experts who can protect data and applications in distributed, dynamic environments. This includes container security, identity and access management expertise.”
Jaddi believes that it is no longer enough for employees to be technical experts in their field. Rather, security professionals work in areas where complex technical risks must be translated into business terms and communicated effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
“Ultimately, we’re looking for security leaders who can think strategically and act as partners to the business, enabling innovation while protecting the organization,” he said.
