IBM is also offering a private preview of context for watsonx.data, which adds an open, federated context layer to help enterprise AI infer business data. watsonx.data GPU-accelerated Presto “demonstrated in internal benchmark testing with Nvidia the potential to significantly reduce the cost and processing time of running certain workloads and processing times on large enterprise datasets,” the company said. Additionally, IBM Z Database Assistant provides an AI-powered workspace to monitor performance, provide automation, and optimize Db2 and IMS database configurations across your IBM Z environment.
IBM announced in public preview HCP Terraform powered by Infragraph, which provides integrated infrastructure visibility.
The IBM Concert Platform is also available in public preview and serves as the automation arm of the strategy. It provides a single view across applications, infrastructure, and networks without forcing businesses to replace existing tools.
Finally, on the hybrid front, the company announced the general availability of Sovereign Core.
Sanchit Vir Gogia, chief analyst at Greyhound Research, sees the new focus on “accountability architecture” rather than product suites.
“IBM’s AI operating model should be read not as another AI product bundle, but as IBM’s naming of the problem that is now at the heart of enterprise AI: accountability,” he said. “Large organizations don’t lack AI tools; they lack a way to control what the tools do once they start working across their data, workflows, applications, infrastructure, and regulatory environments. This is the real shift here. The market has had two years to prove that AI is useful. The next test will be to integrate AI within the messy space where enterprise technology actually resides. Can we make it auditable, costable, secure, reversible, and trustworthy?”
