KPMG Canada expands agent AI offering to drive business transformation

KPMG Canada has increased its investment in agent AI to add new innovation labs, executive education programs, a digital twin platform, and applied research initiatives.

At the heart of the expansion are four AI labs, which KPMG describes as “secure, platform-agnostic sandboxes” where experts work with clients to design, build and test AI-driven solutions.

The lab aims to shorten development cycles and enable experimentation and prototyping in weeks instead of months.

KPMG said the AI ​​Lab aims to help clients redesign their workflows and identify where AI agents can take on research, coordination and decision support tasks.

The facility forms part of the company’s broader agent AI service offering, allowing clients to operate a range of advanced and cutting-edge AI models within a secure and controlled isolated network.

KPMG also plans to use the lab to build AI capabilities within client organizations through hands-on workshops such as agentic thinking, agentic construction, and agentic reading.

Initial labs will be located in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary, with a Montreal site to be added later.

The company’s other AI investments include the launch of the KPMG AI Learning Academy, which provides self-paced, instructor-led courses customized for Canadian businesses.

The company has appointed Andrew Ford as head of AI research, the first national role in Canada’s professional services sector.

KPMG Canada is also expanding its digital twin capabilities with the new GenUI AI solution. The solution uses KPMG-trained models and LlamaZoo technology to create interactive digital replicas and simulation environments for testing scenarios.

Among other initiatives, KPMG Canada is rolling out an extensive suite of AI tools to its employees, supported by company-wide training.

KPMG recently introduced an AI-based assistant that aims to reshape the way corporate managers and accounting analysts manage month-end close operations.
