Photoroom, the AI-powered imaging platform that processes more than 7 billion images annually, launches Photoroom Intelligence, a new insights and research platform designed to establish a clear industry barometer of excellence in AI-driven visual commerce.
This announcement reflects a tectonic shift in the way AI imaging delivers value. While early adoption focused on experimentation and individual efficiency improvements, the strongest commercial results are now being delivered by teams that embed AI directly into their operating models. In this environment, advantage is defined by systems that standardize output, reduce variation, and provide consistent performance across high-volume image production.
This comes at a time when visual consistency is becoming a determining factor in e-commerce performance. According to Photoroom’s State of GenAI in Marketplaces 2026 study, 63% of UK consumers say inconsistent product images and branding make marketplaces look untrustworthy, increasing the link between visual standards, trust and conversion.

We are already seeing this across the global commerce landscape. At Decathlon, 150 brand guidelines were translated into approximately 100 AI presets and incorporated into batch workflows, reducing cost per image by 99%, reducing processing time for 1,000 images from 2 weeks to 20 minutes, enabling editing of 35,000 images within 3 months, and creating a reproducible production system with a quality pass rate of over 99%.
By incorporating AI directly into the listing flow, Mercari achieved a 1% increase in listings across its marketplace with a 10% seller adoption rate. The British Red Cross increased the average selling price by 13% after improving the image quality of its second-hand products. Across platforms like DoorDash, consistent, high-quality images are increasingly linked to discoverability and conversions at scale.
