KFC launches down jacket with pickles inspired by viral AI video

KFC’s latest release isn’t a new flavor of chicken, it’s actually a down jacket stuffed with pickles.

The fast food chain has launched a gherkin-filled down jacket, including novelty items such as pickled fries and pickled Pepsi, to promote KFC UK’s new pickle menu.

The pufferfish consists of an outer layer of clear plastic with pickles and green brine just below its surface. Check out the photos below.

KFC was reportedly inspired to create the jacket after watching an AI-generated video of a man handing out slices of gherkin from his pickle-filled jacket to people.

The brand often serves pickles with chicken and is currently promoting a special pickle menu, so the company thought it right to make the jacket a reality.

“It’s a little shaky, but that’s the point,” KFC UK & Ireland brand manager James Shannon said in a statement. “Only KFC wraps the jacket in real pickle juice and sliced pickles, delivering a wearable, easy-drinking homage that fans have fallen in love with.”

Major companies are getting serious about making fashion as wild as possible with limited edition items these days.

In October, Aldi launched a Potato Puffer that literally resembles a giant baked potato. Created in partnership with London fashion brand Agro Studio, the jacket includes a brown exterior with potato-like features and a fluffy white fleece lining on the inside.

Riddle also had fun creating unique “trolley” bags, designed as “a twist on the everyday grocery store experience.” The unique looking bag literally looks like a Lidl shopping cart.

Crafted from industrial stainless steel, this bag features Lidl’s instantly recognizable yellow and blue shopping cart handles hooked onto a smooth metal bar frame. Also included is a removable chain strap, trolley coin fob and dust bag.
