Walldorf and Redwood City— SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) and Reltio Inc. today announced that SAP has agreed to acquire Reltio, a leading master data management (MDM) software provider, to help customers AI-enable their SAP and non-SAP enterprise data. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Once completed, this acquisition will strengthen SAP Business Data Cloud (SAP BDC), which is integral to SAP’s AI-first and suite-first strategy, and accelerate the evolution of SAP BDC into a fully interoperable enterprise data platform for enterprise-wide agent AI. This gives customers the tools they need to integrate, cleanse, and harmonize data across sources for superior enterprise-wide agent AI.
“Reltio is a natural fit for SAP,” said Muhammad Alam, Executive Director, SAP SE, SAP Product & Engineering. “Their acquisition further strengthens our position as a leading business AI provider that can combine SAP and non-SAP data to provide the data context that business AI requires. AI cannot reach its full potential when data is fragmented across business units, platforms, and domains, and without connectivity and context.”
Integrating Reltio after the acquisition closes will enable SAP to fully AI-enable its customers’ enterprise data. Customers now have access to trusted, high-quality data across SAP and non-SAP sources that Joule and Joule agents use to accelerate time to value for business AI.
Reltio’s platform helps organizations manage and manage structured and unstructured enterprise data from start to finish. AI-based entity resolution identifies related records from different formats and applications and consolidates them into one trusted “golden record” context system. Cloud-native, AI-first design supports a single, consistent view of customers, products, suppliers, locations, and employees across both SAP and non-SAP applications. Customers performing AI tasks benefit from improved data reliability and consistency, bundled into a single source of truth, and improved business AI. This allows customers to trust that the AI results are correct and that interactions with the AI will be resolved quickly.
“Partnering with SAP is a great opportunity to accelerate our mission,” said Manish Sood, Founder and CEO of Reltio. “Enterprise AI requires an open, interoperable, and trusted context across the disparate IT landscapes in which our customers operate. This combination accelerates our ability to deliver Reltio as a context system across SAP and non-SAP environments while maintaining continuity for our customers and partner ecosystem.”
Reltio’s data cleansing, integration capabilities, and agent-driven workflows work with SAP Business Suite applications to improve decision-making, reduce integration complexity, and provide reliable, consistent data critical to the success of business processes and AI use cases. Low-latency delivery and support for Model Context Protocol (MCP) enable real-time multi-agent workflows across SAP and non-SAP environments, enabling AI agents such as procurement agents to assess supplier risk and trigger actions almost instantly using trusted real-time data. Reltio offers pre-built, industry-specific “velocity packs” that include data models, rules, matching logic and integrations, and solutions tailored to areas such as life sciences, healthcare, and financial services.
By integrating Reltio after the acquisition closes, SAP plans to accelerate customers’ ability to manage and publish master data as trusted, context-rich data products across multiple sources serving both traditional analytics workloads and AI agents. Reltio will be a core functionality within SAP BDC with a flexible commercial model that allows customers to purchase Reltio as a separate solution or together with other SAP products. The Reltio portfolio will also be available as a standalone product for the time being.
The transaction is expected to close in the second or third quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
