washington – The U.S. Department of Labor today announced the launch of a free artificial intelligence literacy course called “Make America AI-Ready.” This course will help America’s workers learn the basics of AI for 20202 by simply texting “READY.”
This initiative advances the Trump Administration’s efforts to provide American workers with the foundational AI skills they need to succeed in an AI-driven economy, as outlined below. America’s human resources strategy and the white house AI action plan.
This course is uniquely designed to provide users with simple learning content and daily challenges through text messages. Users can complete the course in 7 days with just 10 minutes a day. The text message-based design is designed to be as accessible as possible to all Americans, including those without laptops or with limited access to the internet.

This course provides participants with daily content that directly aligns with the five fundamental areas outlined in the Department of Labor’s recently released guidelines. AI literacy framework.

- Understand AI principles: Build a foundation for understanding and effectively using AI’s core concepts, capabilities, and limitations.
- Explore uses for AI: Explore first-hand the various AI tools and related use cases, and how AI can complement human expertise.
- Guide AI effectively: Understand how to provide the right context to AI and create clear prompts that produce effective output.
- Evaluate your AI outpost: Evaluate the accuracy and relevance of results generated by AI.
- Use AI responsibly: Use AI in an ethical and safe manner, protect critical information, and ensure accountability for results.
The Department of Labor designed this course to be a starting point for American workers on their AI journey, and at the end of the course, participants will have additional resources to learn more advanced AI skills or pursue AI-related careers based on their unique goals and interests.
