Cato Networks deploys Neural Edge and AI Security to protect enterprise AI workloads

Machine Learning

Cloud networking company Cato Networks Ltd. today announced two major innovations in its Cato SASE platform designed to help enterprises deploy artificial intelligence at scale: Cato Neutral Edge and Cato AI Security.

Cato Neural Edge deploys Nvidia Corp. graphics processing units across Cato’s global private backbone to accelerate AI-driven analytics for real-time traffic inspection, threat detection, and policy enforcement. Meanwhile, Cato AI Security uses technology from Cato’s acquisition of Aim Security Ltd. to provide advanced AI governance and protection capabilities.

Cato said these innovations provide the first secure access service edge platform aimed at ensuring security in the AI era.

“AI is changing both sides of the equation: the threats we face and the protection we need,” explains Matan Getz, vice president of AI security at Cato Networks. “Cato Neural Edge and Cato AI Security enable businesses to strengthen their AI-driven defenses and manage enterprise AI without sacrificing performance or adding operational complexity.”

Traditional security controls were built to inspect files, user behavior, and application access rather than AI prompts, chats, co-pilots, agent conversations, and situational interactions. Cato argues that providing security for AI and AI for security at scale requires significant computing power capable of detailed semantic analysis and running large-scale models. To ensure AI transformation, enterprises need to evolve both their security controls and their supporting infrastructure, the report says.

Cato Neural Edge tackles AI infrastructure challenges through a GPU-powered enforcement layer embedded within 85+ locations of Cato’s global private backbone. The new product performs intelligence and enforcement on Cato PoP, delivering predictable performance and architectural integrity. It also differs from existing architectures that offload AI inspection to a separate hyperscale environment.

This new service enables high-frequency execution of AI and machine learning models inline, real-time semantic and behavioral inspection, scalable analysis across global traffic flows, and deterministic performance without external processing layers.

Today’s second new release, Cato AI Security, unifies AI government and runtime protection across key AI use cases, governing employee use of AI tools, securing homegrown AI applications, and strengthening guardrails for autonomous AI agents.

Cato AI Security provides a unified control panel and policy engine that enables enterprises to securely undertake AI transformation while providing a seamless path to broader network and security initiatives such as software-defined wide area networks, security services edge, and universal zero-trust network access.

“Crane Worldwide Logistics LLC’s Vice President of Cybersecurity and IT Infrastructure, Marc Crudgington, said: “You can manage your AI usage, protect homegrown AI applications, and manage agent workflows using the same policy engine and data lake that already protects your networks and cloud environments.”

Both Cato AI Security and Cato Neural Edge are now available to Cato Networks customers.
