Zeenat Aman revealed that directors would never try to choreograph her to avoid frustration.

Veteran actress Zeenat Aman recalled that in her heyday, filmmakers often let their films naturally groove to the music, rather than attempting intricate choreography. She said that many directors found it easier to let her swing freely rather than “get frustrated” trying to choreograph her movements.

The actress shared a portion of the song ‘Tum Na Maano Aag Paani Mein’ from the 1979 film ‘The Great Gambler’ on social media. In the video, Zeenat is seen donning impressive outfits and giving her best performance and dance moves while exuding her true confidence.

Zeenat shared the clip and wrote, “Another hit from ‘The Great Gambler’! ‘Do Lafzon Ki’ is by consensus the most loved song of the film, but for me this is my favorite. There’s no dripping romance here. Just the confidence and sass of a woman who knows what’s good about her!”

She added, “There were three costume changes for this sequence, and out of them, the shimmering gold track pants set (not featured in this clip, but can be seen on YouTube) tickled me the most! Not only was the costume totally flashy, but the hair team decided to give me a short page boy wig, and the dance master decided to add some high kicks just in case.”

“As I said before, unlike most actresses at the time, I had no formal training and was therefore not a very confident dancer. Still, I could ‘groove’ and many directors found it better to leave me to my own swinging device than to get frustrated trying to coax complicated choreography out of me!” Anyway, enjoy this snippet,” she concluded.
