Amritsar city police have registered an FIR following a complaint by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) regarding the disturbing AI-generated video of the Golden Temple posted on social media.

Senior SGPC member Gurcharan Singh Grewal said the video shows a boy wearing shoes showing his uncovered head inside the shrine’s parikrama, adding that the unacceptable act hurt the sentiments of Sikhs.
“This is a blatant attack on Sikhism and part of a deep-rooted conspiracy hatched by anti-Sikh forces. The government must expose this conspiracy and take strict action against the culprits,” Grewal said.
An SGPC spokesperson said a formal complaint has been filed with the police in this regard.
ACP-Central Additional Commissioner of Police Jaspal Singh said, “Based on the complaint, a case has been registered with the concerned department of the Cyber Crime Police Station and an investigation has been initiated to trace the accused.”
He called on the general public to refrain from distributing the video.
In recent months, several AI-generated videos featuring the Golden Temple have surfaced on social media, worrying Sikh organizations including the SGPC.
A few weeks ago, the gurdwara organization formed a committee of AI experts to check and curb the circulation of objectionable content on social media.
