- Adobe is offering unlimited generations on Firefly until March 16th.
- Firefly is available via web and mobile apps.
- Users are spending more time with Firefly prompts.
If you love using Firefly, Adobe’s AI-first content creation suite, the company is opening up access to more generations for the next six weeks. Through March 16, users can create unlimited images and videos in up to 2K resolution through the Firefly website, Firefly Boards, and the free Firefly app for iOS and Android (see below for details on each).
Firefly allows users to generate royalty-free music and sound effects and experiment with features like the popular Generative Fills. The increase in access is pinned to what Adobe describes as a very content-heavy time of year, with Valentine’s Day approaching.

“The average length of Firefly prompts doubled in 2025, demonstrating that creators are engaging more conversationally with creative AI and proving that prompts themselves are becoming core to creative skills,” Adobe said in an announcement.
How to access
Existing Firefly customers on the Pro, Premium, 4,000 Credits, 7,000 Credits, and 50,000 Credits plans now have access to unlimited generations. If you haven’t already signed up for Firefly, do so by March 16th and get unlimited generations with Adobe’s own Firefly model, Google’s Nano Banana Pro, GPT image generation, Runway Gen-4 Image, and Adobe’s commercially secure Firefly image and video model.
How to try Firefly
Firefly on the web might be your first stop, but on the go, the Firefly app provides the same experience with a mobile-friendly interface that gives you easy access to tools and projects.
I also test AI tools for a living. I will introduce three image generators that I actually use and how to use them.
All projects started in the app sync with Adobe’s Creative Cloud applications, so users can enjoy project continuity across devices. The app gives users access to some of the most popular features in content editing, such as Generative Fill and Expand, allowing users to add, replace, and delete objects with simple text prompts while providing realistic-looking backgrounds.
Users can also create images, videos, and browse assets from text prompts using Adobe’s advanced Firefly models and third-party partner models. This approach has also received a major upgrade.
Models available
At Adobe Max in April, Adobe announced that in addition to housing its own Firefly models, including Firefly Image Model 4 and Firefly Image Model 4 Ultra, it would also host third-party models on its platform. At the time, these models included OpenAI GPT image generation, Google Imagen 3, Google Veo 2, and Black Forest Labs’ Flux 1.1 Pro.
Since then, Adobe has expanded to include many more models, including Black Forest Labs’ Flux.1 Kontext, Ideogram’s Ideogram 3.0, Luma AI’s Ray2, Pika’s text-to-video generator, Runway’s Gen-4 Image, and Google’s latest Imagen 4 and Veo 3 models. The vast ecosystem of models aims to allow users to choose the models they want to use from the same interface.

Regardless of the model a user selects, they will have content credentials for AI-generated content, even if they are not using the Adobe model. This feature means that the content’s metadata indicates whether the model was used to generate the image.
All models are available throughout the Firefly experience, including the mobile app. The app is free to download, but requires a tiered Firefly membership to access features. For those who just want to try it out, there is a Firefly Free plan with limited generated credits for both standard and premium features. Paid tiers offer additional access such as Firefly Standard ($10), which grants you 2,000 generation credits per month. Firefly Pro ($30): Receives 7,000 generation credits per month. Firefly Premium ($200) gives you 50,000 generation credits per month.
firefly board
Firefly Boards is an AI-first platform that allows users to create moodboards and storyboards to generate ideas. Supporting both image and video generation, users can remix uploaded video clips and generate new video footage using Adobe’s Firefly Video Model, Google’s Veo 3, Luma AI’s Ray2, and Pika’s text-to-video generators.

Users can also perform AI editing of existing images using text prompts and leveraging Black Forest Labs’ Flux.1 Kontext and OpenAI’s image generation capabilities.
