Guy Fieri talks about his son Hunter’s engagement and the origins of Flavortown
Guy Fieri talks with USA TODAY’s Ralphie Aversa about his son’s engagement and more. Fieri’s Flavortown Tailgate returns to this year’s Big Game.
Guy Fieri celebrates his birthday with a shocking new look.
In a video posted to Instagram on Thursday, Fieri celebrated his 58th birthday with a brand new “do.” Dressed in khakis, a plaid button-down shirt and a tightly combed dark brown hairdo, the celebrity chef was almost unrecognizable. The video looked similar to one generated by artificial intelligence.
USA TODAY has reached out to Fieri’s representatives for comment.
“Hello! I’ve been celebrating my birthday as a guy for years, but this year I decided to celebrate my birthday as just a guy. Happy birthday!” Fake Fieri said in the video.
“New year. New man. New look,” Fieri wrote in the caption next to the video.
Gone is his signature matte tips and flashy clothing color palette, and Fieri seemed to delight the comments section with his new look. “Wow, I almost didn’t recognize him. He looks like my car salesman. Happy Birthday!!” wrote fellow chef Joshua Wiseman.
“Dad…when did you start selling insurance?” his son Hunter wrote. Fellow food star Jon Taffer agreed in writing, saying, “This is a perfect infiltration of Bar Rescue’s scouting! Happy birthday!!”
Fieri’s post follows news that she suffered a serious injury early last year that left her confined to a wheelchair during the holiday season.
The Food Network star told Fox News Digital that he fell when he “slipped down the stairs.”
“One foot went forward and the other foot got caught in the sill. So that stretched me out. It looked like I was probably doing the splits, but when my right leg retracted, that was the winning point,” he said.
Fieri claimed that the doctor told him, “I have never seen the largest and thickest part of a quadriceps muscle torn in half in 20 years.”
