The Ministry of Education has issued a nationwide call for participation in the upcoming IIT Madras-led Bharat Bodin AI Conclave 2026, which aims to spotlight artificial intelligence solutions that have progressed beyond the prototype stage and brought measurable improvements in learning outcomes. The conclave is scheduled for February 12-13, 2026 in Delhi and will serve as a national platform to surface scalable and responsible AI interventions in India’s education ecosystem.
Introducing proven AI for learning effectiveness
The invitation is open to organizations that have developed reliable, research-backed AI implementations with proven results, the ministry said. Participants may begin submitting their letters of interest, but the submission period will end on January 29, 2026. Solutions can be submitted across four thematic tracks: AI for Schooling, AI for Higher Education, AI for Skilling and Workforce Preparation, and AI Research and Deep Technology.
This call is open to a wide range of stakeholder groups, including academic institutions, foundations, government agencies, solution providers and international participants with relevant developments in the education sector.
NEP Vision’s “AI emerging as a key enabler”
Reflecting on this initiative, Professor V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, pointed out that far-reaching changes are underway in Indian education. He said, “India’s education system is undergoing a decisive transformation under the National Education Policy 2020 and National Curriculum Framework, with emphasis on competency-based learning, inclusion, multilingual education and measurable learning outcomes starting from a strong foundation.” He added that AI has become a powerful tool to address persistent challenges in areas such as teacher support, assessment, diagnostics, personalized learning, and large-scale system-level monitoring.
National Platform for Ecosystem Cooperation
As part of this national mission, the Ministry of Education has established an Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence for Education, known as IIT Madras Bodhan AI Foundation, at IIT Madras. The center is responsible for developing India’s first policy-aligned AI solutions tailored to diverse socio-economic and linguistic contexts.
The conclave itself is designed as a landscape discovery platform that brings together policymakers, academia, solution providers, investors, educators, and philanthropists to evaluate and address AI-based innovations in education. Selected participants will demonstrate their solutions through exhibition booths and undergo structured reviews from designated committees to increase awareness among national stakeholders.
Additionally, participation will serve as a gateway to potential future collaborations with the Center of Excellence, including research partnerships, pilot deployments, co-development opportunities, and possible integration with the emerging Bharat EduAI Stack.
