IBM is announcing IBM Enterprise Advantage, a new consulting service that helps companies quickly build their own AI platforms. The service combines AI tools and IBM consultant expertise to support multiple cloud providers and AI models.
IBM Enterprise Advantage allows organizations to redesign workflows, connect AI to existing systems, and extend new agent applications without changing their current cloud provider, AI model, or core infrastructure. The service supports Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, IBM watsonx, and both open and closed source models.
IBM Enterprise Advantage is built on IBM Consulting Advantage, an internal AI platform used by IBM itself. The platform already supports over 150 customer projects as the market for industry-specific AI agents and applications grows. According to IBM, the platform can increase consultant productivity by up to 50%.

A real example shows the possibility
Education company Pearson uses the service to build a customized AI platform. The platform combines human expertise and agent assistants to manage daily tasks and decisions.
Meanwhile, a manufacturing company used Enterprise Advantage to implement a generative AI strategy. This includes identifying valuable use cases, testing targeted prototypes, and aligning leaders with a scalable platform-first strategy. The company is currently deploying an AI assistant with multiple technologies in a secure environment.
“Many organizations are investing in AI, but achieving true value at scale remains a huge challenge,” said Mohammad Ali, senior vice president and head of IBM Consulting. IBM has reportedly solved these challenges internally by using AI to transform its operations.
Enterprise Advantage combines the technical and industry expertise of IBM consultants with the technology of IBM Consulting Advantage. The framework is designed to help organizations confidently scale AI and achieve meaningful impact by combining human expertise with digital workers and ready-to-use AI assets.
IBM Enterprise Advantage is now available to businesses that want to expand their AI capabilities without vendor lock-in.
