A month ago, we made Oracle AI Agent Studio for Fusion Applications available to customers and partners to deploy AI agents to their workforces across the enterprise. This is the same tool that Oracle uses to provide AI agents.

- Selected large language models (LLMs) are hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
- Because Oracle provides the infrastructure and data center without the need for a third party, it can also shoulder the cost of providing GPU-mediated LLM inference as part of embedded AI for enterprise applications.
By curating and hosting models in OCI, Oracle brought embedded AI to market faster, reduced AI adoption friction, and helped customers leverage AI within their existing enterprise application workflows. Custom AI allows customers to deploy any number of completely custom agents and agent teams into production using the same AI Agent Studio tool that Oracle uses to configure and scale AI agents. Customers can choose their AI agent model without any restrictions or keys. You can also deploy specialized multimodal models that can process images, audio, and video to power your AI agents.
Custom AI includes OpenAI's GPT-4 models that power the AI agent. Like GPT products from other companies, Oracle's GPT-4 model is hosted on Azure. In the spirit of Oracle's multi-cloud strategy, other high-performance models hosted on other clouds will also be introduced over time to power the Oracle AI agent.
Similar to the built-in AI features enabled within AI Agent Studio, Oracle's Custom AI allows users to create agents using natural language. No coding experience required.
Custom AI is offered as a separately priced product within Oracle Fusion. Like other Fusion Applications products, Custom AI uses predictable seat-based and employee-based pricing, following the core Fusion Applications pricing approach.
Choose between built-in and custom AI
We expect most Fusion Applications customers to continue to take full advantage of the embedded AI capabilities included in their subscriptions, and Oracle will continue to deliver new embedded generated AI and embedded AI agents at a pace that continues. Some AI agent use cases require custom AI due to the complexity of the use case or other special requirements that cannot be addressed by an Oracle-built agent.
With Embedded AI, Oracle performs all the work to maintain the AI agents it builds around Fusion Applications. Oracle carefully selects and regularly updates models and agent configurations for long-term, high-quality results. Custom AI allows teams that can maintain their own AI agents for long periods of time to deploy those specialized AI agents into production to achieve infinite scale, reach, and automation results.
The embedded AI agent remains extensible using the embedded Oracle AI Agent Studio, which allows you to connect to third-party systems, incorporate customer-specific versions of documentation, customize embedded prompts, and edit agent descriptions. Custom AI agents start from scratch, without relying on agent templates built by Oracle. Both built-in and custom agents can be tested, deployed, and managed through AI Agent Studio.
