BENGALURU: Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to be a powerful equalizer for women, but this can only happen if women actively participate in shaping and deploying it, experts say.The three-day Grace Hopper Celebration 2025 at KTPO Whitefield, themed “Unbound: Breaking Barriers and Challenging the Impossible,” brought together entrepreneurs, CEOs, investors, and technologists to discuss the profound impact AI is expected to have on women’s careers, choices, and futures.Speakers emphasized that AI is already helping women by freeing up time, democratizing skills, and enabling women to participate in the innovation economy without having a traditional technical background. They emphasized that the power of AI, from workplace productivity to personal well-being, is gradually returning to women’s hands, making this moment a tipping point similar to the rise of computers and the internet, but on a much larger scale and impact. However, some female entrepreneurs warned that AI will only be fair if women are involved as builders, testers, and decision makers. If AI is trained on biased data or developed without women’s input, it risks perpetuating existing inequalities. They argued that the solution is not fear, but participation, experimentation, and initiative.
