As pointed out at a meeting attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on December 1, Uzbekistan is preparing to introduce a wide range of artificial intelligence solutions across healthcare, education, transportation and space research.

During the meeting, the president I felt stressed The need to expand the scope of AI-assisted diagnosis in healthcare. The authorities plan to work with international partners to introduce AI-based medical image analysis in specialized medical centers, with a focus on early detection of liver, lung and prostate cancers, as well as heart attacks and compound fractures.
Starting next year, AI training for students will be introduced at schools, vocational schools, and universities nationwide. Informatics teachers are currently preparing for the new curriculum. However, the President pointed out that digital literacy should not be limited only to these teachers. Instead, entire school teams should learn how to use AI tools to reduce teachers’ workloads and free up time for professional development.
New approaches to the field of education were also discussed. Officials proposed launching an AI-powered platform for schools, including a virtual assistant for teachers. This assistant, integrated into the platform, helps teachers prepare lecture materials, presentations, tests, lesson plans, and supports the management of the exam process.

The meeting also reviewed programs designed to strengthen the qualifications of advisors to regional governors on digital technology and artificial intelligence.
In the transportation sector, officials announced projects aimed at enhancing road and rail safety through AI. These include systems that automatically detect traffic violations and AI-based monitoring tools that assess the technical condition of freight cars and reduce the risk of accidents.
New initiatives in space technology were also highlighted. The progress of the development of the Samarkand-2028 remote sensing satellite was reviewed, and plans to equip it with an AI module were presented. Images captured by satellites will be used for preliminary air quality assessments and monitoring of crops and forests.
At the conclusion of the presentation, President Mirziyoyev instructed authorities to accelerate the implementation of proposed projects and expand the use of artificial intelligence across economic sectors and social services.
