COM-ARHC6 brings Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processing and up to 128GB of DDR5 to AAEON’s COM Express Type 6 Compact lineup.
Taipei, Taiwan – November 27: AAEON (Stock Code: 6579), a leading computer-on-module provider, launched COM-ARHC6, a COM Express Type 6 compact size module (95mm x 95mm) incorporating the Intel® Core™ Ultra Processor (Series 2) platform (formerly known as Arrow Lake).
AAEON lists Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 Processor 285H, Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 Processor 255H, and Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 Processor 225H as standard SKU options, and says the modules deliver up to 19.6% faster CPU and 20.3% faster GPU performance compared to previous COM Express Type 6 Compact products. Meanwhile, COM-ARHC6 increases DDR5 memory capacity by 33%, offering up to 128GB of dual-channel DDR5.
By leveraging the Intel® Arc™ GPU and Intel® AI Boost NPU integrated into the Intel® Core™ Ultra Processor (Series 2) platform, COM-ARHC6 can deliver up to 99 TOPs of AI performance. This makes the product ideal for use in applications such as diagnostic imaging equipment and automated optical inspection. Other features that contribute to its suitability for such applications include a small 95mm x 95mm form factor and support for both active fan- or passive heatsink-based cooling.
For expansion, this module can support up to eight PCIe devices through a combination of one 8-lane PEG 4.0 slot and two 4-lane PEG 4.0 slots, four single-lane PCIe 4.0, and 4-lane standard PCIe interfaces. AAEON notes that one of the module’s four-lane PEG 4.0 slots can be used to preinstall a 256GB NVMe module for onboard storage, but this is optional. For standard SKU storage, dual SATA support is provided.
COM-ARHC6 provides four simultaneous display outputs via three DDIs for HDMI or DP functionality, each offering 4K resolution. Other display options include LVDS by default, but this can be changed to eDP on request. Other optional interfaces include two MIPI CSI connectors and VGA, the latter co-layed with the module’s third DDI interface.
For proof of concept and software validation purposes, AAEON is listing the ECB-920A-A11 COM Express Evaluation Carrier Board for COM-ARHC6. Built on the ATX form factor, the ECB-920A-A11 is suitable for use in the default configuration or as the basis for project-specific custom carrier designs.
