Media24 has announced the resignation of Fairlady Editor-in-Chief Ann Donald. Donald has been with Fairlady since January 2002 and plans to leave at the end of 2005. In announcing the decision to his management team, Donald said: Editing this title has been a highlight of my career and I am very honored to have been given the opportunity. “
According to Media24, Fairlady has performed very well over the past few years, and ABC’s new figures show that distribution is stable enough. “We are confident that we will deliver a magazine with a strong and stable foundation and that it will continue to perform exceptionally well in a highly competitive market.”
Donald’s four years at Fairlady follow three years as editor and publisher of Woman’s Value/DIT. “Now I feel it is time to think about the future. From a personal point of view, I have spent 21 years in the publishing industry, 11 of them in magazines and 9 of them editing various titles. I am now looking to explore opportunities to put my experience to work in a variety of ways, which will give me more flexible working hours and the opportunity to spend more time with my family. You can,” said Donald.
“We are very sad to learn of Anne’s resignation, but we respect her decision,” said Mari Lattegan, publisher of the Women’s Magazine division. Anne has built a strong editorial team and, under her leadership, has published more than 21 award-winning titles in the last 16 months, an amazing achievement in a highly competitive environment. I look forward to working with you on your new plan.”
