Thrissur: Parliamentary leader Ramesh Chennitala has claimed there are inconsistencies in contracts for artificial intelligence-enabled surveillance cameras installed under the state-wide motor vehicle sector.
Ramesh Chennithala accused the 7.5 billion rupee contracts with these companies later turned into 232 million rupees. Installing an AI camera is a foul with the help of KELTRON. Regarding the Safe Kerala Project, he added, no documents had been disclosed pursuant to the Right to Information Act.
According to Chennithala, KELTRON contracted with Bangalore-based SRIT, which had no experience in the field. KELTRON reports that SRIT was selected through an electronic tender call. However, public sector projects must disclose whether other companies have participated in the tender.
Chennithala said Lyte Master Lighting India Limited in Thiruvananthapuram and Presadio Technologies Private Limited in Kozhikode, which have been subcontracted by SRIT, do not have expertise in the field. Of these, Lyte Master Lighting India Limited later withdrew the contract.
The agreement was to complete the Rs 75 crore project, but SRIT was entrusted with the Rs 151.22 crore project. When the government announced the project, the spending rose to 232 million rupees, he said, Chennithala.
