The San Francisco-based startup raised $11 million in the Series A round led by Footwork, with participation from the M13 being valued at $100 million. This latest funding brings total capital to $19.5 million for everything after raising $5.5 million in seed funding from Bessemer Venture Partners, UNCork Capital and Shopify CEO TobiLütke.
The company is building an AI-driven platform that allows users to create fully functional mobile and web applications using only natural language prompts. Unlike its competitors, it offers users production-enabled apps that include everything from back-end infrastructure and authentication to payment systems, allowing applications to be built and monetized quickly.
Dhruv Amin and Marcus Lowe have founded anything to address common issues with AI coding tools. Many users get stuck after creating a prototype and are unable to launch apps that can generate real revenue.
Co-founder Marcus Lowe said: “We're transitioning from coding assistants to autonomous development teams. You act like a product manager. You say what you want, and the agents build it.
The company grew rapidly, earning over 700,000 registered users and $2 million in annual revenue just two weeks after its launch. Examples include Los Angeles real estate agents who charge $100 a month for an AI training portal, financial experts who earn $34,000 from an AI-powered tool suite, and film producers who are working on a child's AI app targeting recurring revenue of $20,000 each month.
They also released a new product along with the announcement of funding called Anything Maxm, an autonomous AI engineer who automatically tests apps in real life, detects bugs and detects vessel fixes without user intervention. The product addresses an industry issue known as “2 AM Doom Loop” and keeps users in a bug that prevents app deployment.
“Most AI coding tools create great prototypes, but they fail to launch them in real life. We solved the basic problem that is Achilles heels in all other 'atmosphere coding' tools. Miles,” added co-founder Dhruv Amin.
The company aims to shift the paradigm from coding assistants to autonomous development teams, with users acting as product managers who build and extend software without the need to write code.
