Tech founders and executives are diving into new features in the meta announced Thursday. Users can generate AI content in the Meta AI app and share it on Facebook or Instagram.
Meta calls it Vibes. This is a feature that “is designed to make it easier to find creative inspiration and experiment with Meta AI's media tools.” Critics see it as a new way to indulge sensitive users in unconscious, artificially generated things. content.

Alex Cohen, co-founder and CEO of Hello Patient, a healthcare AI assistant platform, posted a meme with the caption. “Finally. Pure slop.”
Nikita Bier, X's product head, should be a competitor for Meta's threads. Commented in Wang's post. “Give me a Slop Stream.”
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in the thread that Vibes is a preview of some of the “directions for new products” the company is exploring.
Some critics framed the new ventures of Meta as a critical warning sign of how artificial intelligence with all possibilities is exploited.
Jake Cooper, founder of Railway, a software infrastructure platform, writes to X that the meta vibe is “not the future I want to live in.”

This is not a rollout of the first AI feature meta, widely panned by critics who are concerned about how they target the most vulnerable users, such as teens and lonely individuals.

Shyam Sankar, chief technology officer at Palantir Technologies, wrote to X that he found comfort that many users would “decisively reject this AI slop.”
He said AI should not be used in “a frivolous pursuit that further breaks attention and connection with humanity.” Instead, the technology is used to “empower American workers” and repeats the position of Alex Karp, co-founder of Palantir. He often needs to talk about how the tech industry should refocus priorities on the urgent challenges facing the West.
“It's energizing to see more and more voices watching this,” Sankar wrote in an email to Business Insider. “We'll be optimistic when America wins.”
