Singapore, September 20, 2025 /PRNEWSWIRE/ -CONY.AI, a global leader in autonomous driving technology, announced today its entry into the Singapore market, in collaboration with partner Comfortdelgro, the largest local transportation service provider, to deploy autonomous vehicles and promote daily commutes for residents.

The companies will first introduce autonomous mobility services to the Punggol area with fixed routes. They will start service within the next few months after receiving regulatory approval.

The programme is consistent with Singapore's ambitious plans and will introduce automation mobility solutions to supplement existing transportation infrastructure, including taxis, private hail vehicles and subways.

Pony.ai and Comfortdelgro are building a strong joint foundation ahead of this Singapore initiative. The partnership began when the two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in July 2024, establishing a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the massive commercial deployment of self-driving vehicles. The pilot programme followed in Guangzhou, which began in March 2025 and served as a valuable precursor to the expanded efforts in Singapore.

In June 2025, Singapore's Ministry of Transport (MOT) announced plans to deploy self-driving vehicles (AVS) in public housing estates by the end of the year, integrating them into the National Public Transport Network. The initial development will focus on the Punggol district. The initiative is part of a broader government effort to address driver shortages while increasing connectivity across public transport.

“We're committed to providing a range of services to our customers,” said Dr. James Peng, Founder and CEO of Pony.AI. “We are excited to introduce Pony.AI's advanced autonomous driving technology to Singapore. We are committed to enhancing the daily commute of local residents and advancing the country's smart mobility vision by providing safe, comfortable and efficient autonomous mobility services.”

“We're committed to providing a range of services to our customers,” said Cheng Siak Kian, Managing Director and CEO of the Group at Comfortdelgro. “We will expand our partnership with Pony.ai to bring safe, innovative and reliable autonomous mobility services to our Singapore community. A sustainable and intelligent mobility solution that benefits our community.”

Pony.ai currently operates a completely unmanned commercial robotaxi service in four Tier-1 cities in China (Beijing, Shanghai, Ganangzhou and Shenzhen). These services cover an area of over 2,000 square kilometers. The company has a global accumulation of over 50 million kilometers of autonomous driving mileage, showing solid safety records and user satisfaction. Registered users of the riding platform surged 136% year-on-year in the second quarter. Even with a large user base, the user satisfaction rate is well above 4.8 out of five.

Globally, Pony.Ai is steadily expanding its footprint. The latest development announced a partnership with Qatar's premier transport service provider, Mowasalat “Karwa”, two weeks ago, bringing autonomous vehicles to the country's roads. This further strengthens the presence of AI in the Middle East, building on its partnership with RTA in Dubai and collaboration with Uber in the region. Additionally, Pony.Ai is running on-road testing in Luxembourg with local partner Emile Weber in Seoul's Gangnam District 24/7 testing.

“Singapore has world-class transportation infrastructure and its government is highly supported by developing autonomous mobility to build a green and sustainable future, with great potential in local markets and the broader Southeast Asian market.
