According to the latest Naukri JobSpeak report, India's white-collar job market has continued to grow steadily in August, with Hyderabad emerging as the country's most dynamic recruitment hub. The city's booming startup ecosystem has fueled much of its momentum along with the historic rise in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) employment. Overall employment activity rose 3% year-on-year, indicating strong demand beyond the traditional IT role.

Hyderabad is leading the growth of employment in India

Dr. Pawan Goyal, CEO of Naukri.com, highlighted two critical changes in the report. The sustainable employment momentum in the non-IT sector and the rapid sublimation of Hyderabad as the country's largest metro for startup recruitment. The city also recorded that unicorn employment rose 45%, and it stood out as India's most vibrant job destination.

The role of AI and ML has achieved record growth

The AI ​​and ML positions have witnessed a record surge of 54%, solidifying their position as the most in demand and advanced technical skills. DIP and Telecom fell by 6% in IT/Software Services by 13%, while the country's tech unicorns have beenaring the slowdown with a 10% jump in employment. This reflects the changing trends in which specialized digital roles are thriving, despite traditional IT showing signs of contraction.

Non-IT sectors drive employment momentum

The non-IT industry increased by 24%, hospitality and travel increased by 22%, real estate increased by 18%, BPO/ITE increased by 17%, and education increased by 16%. Hospitality in particular shined, maintaining a 22% jump from the previous year, with fresh employment in the sector increasing an impressive 44%. Real estate recruitment also rose sharply, with Chennai leading by 22% and Hyderabad approaching 18%.

Fresh and advanced experts in demand

Recruitment activities were not limited to medium-level professionals. Freshmen had an opportunity up 7%, particularly across hospitality, education and real estate. At the other end of the spectrum, senior experts with over 16 years of experience are also driven primarily by sectors such as oil and gas and healthcare, with demand increasing by 8%.

Emerging cities make their mark

Hyderabad stole the spotlight, but the small city showed strong momentum in the fresh work segment. Jaipur has seen employment rises by 26% while Kochi has recorded a jump of 16%, reflecting the growing opportunities beyond the major metros.
