With the launch of the computer, Devrev is extremely ambitious. It aims to redefine how machines work with people, or rather how to repair our daily work from the broken state we are currently finding. Do these lofty claims make sense?
Computers are a new AI platform that extracts business data from human-scale AI assistant silos. In addition to chat functionality, computers can also create content, update information, and act according to preferences and insights within the business system.
Most AI tools can answer common questions, but fail when it comes to specific business questions such as “What is the latest status in your dealer pipeline?” Computers aim to address this issue by integrating all their business data with a dedicated knowledge graph called computer memory.
The platform runs on two patented technologies. Computer memory forms knowledge graphs that map complex relationships between teams, customers and products. Computer AirSync provides real-time data synchronization while maintaining access and compliance.
From scraping to acting
Computers are taking it a step further when traditional AI tools primarily collect and summarise data. The system creates tickets, assigns them to the right employees, and automatically drafts customer communications, but all syncs Salesforce and Jira.
According to Michael Machado, corporate vice president of Devrev, this creates what the company calls “team intelligence.” “It's collective insights that unleash when teams, customers and products are finally connected.”
Unicorn status as a foundation
The company behind the computer has solid funds. Devrev raised $108.8 million earlier this year before becoming a unicorn, bringing its total to $1.1 billion. Now it adds a considerable amount of claim to its substantial value. This is nothing new. I saw CognitionLabs talking to Devin about “the first AI software engineer” and after the practical results of dissatisfaction, this solution disappeared into the background.
However, CEO Dheeraj Pandey, former co-founder of Nutanix, gives Devrev more legitimacy than other parties. He emphasizes that computers are not about more automation or apps. “Desktops have made software personal. Mobiles have become portable, because computers are the first time AI has a full context within the enterprise.”
Practical results
Devrev is now available in beta for existing Devrev customers. A full launch is planned later this year, allowing anyone to connect their business data.
Companies such as Velocity Global, Bolt, and Bill.com are already dealing with Devrev's technology. Customers report impressive results. 85% of support tickets are automatically resolved, providing 50% lower support costs and saving 10 hours of time per employee. But beyond this efficiency, Devrev clearly wants a lot. In other words, it is a completely different relationship between humans and machines. I pay attention to my Devrev computers (and other applications).
