The video features Sandhu's depth, portraying the President of Moldova as inconsistent and ineffective. It laughs at Moldova's drawn-out path to EU membership, hinting at a dispute with Russian state-owned energy giant Gazprom last year over the gas supply. The video also references the Olgarhi Iran Scholl of the fugitive Prokremlin. The Iran Show has been banned from political bloc Victory (winning) from participating in Moldova's September 28th parliamentary elections. The narration is expressed in Russian.
Sandu is a popular target for Matryoshka's bot account and launched an enhanced attack on her back in April. The wave accused Sandhu of corruption, suppressing dissent and manipulating the election. At the same time, the “Fundamentals of the Fighting Against Repression” founded by the principal of the late Wagner group Yevgeny Prigozhin, published a manufactured “study”, claiming that Sandhu benefits pedophiles from Ukrainian children.
The bot also attempted to pit European Commission Vice President Kaja Kalas against Sandhu by spreading false claims that Sandhu was looking at Kalas's position. Analysts say the possible reason behind this surge in disinformation is the Moldova parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28th.
