Notebooklm's latest trick turns your notes into an AI video slideshow – how is this

AI Video & Visuals

Video Overview

ZDNET/Google

Google's NoteBookLM is now viral due to the audio overview feature. This creates AI-generated podcasts between two hosts based on content. Today, Google is also making the highly anticipated leap for Video.

On Tuesday, Google launched a summary of video, a feature originally announced at Google I/O. This creates a narrated slide from the content. This feature adds visual components to the audio overview, and the AI host creates new visuals that help explain the content, as shown below.

Video Summary Use Cases (and How to Access)

The slides incorporate existing visual elements of the document, such as images, diagrams, quotes, numbers, and more. You can see some applications that are useful for this feature, both for working professionals and students. For example, when uploading a dense research paper or business report, the video overview tool may break down the concept and maintain some of the key charts needed to explain the topic.

According to Google, if you're familiar with audio overviews, you can easily adjust to video overviews. Video summary is available to all English Notebooklm users. Google shares that additional formats will be added in the future, and the narrated slides are the first to be released in the video overview.

New look

The actual NoteBookLM Studio received an upgraded look that adds to its functionality beyond aesthetics. With the redesign, users can “create and save multiple studio outputs”, creating different outputs from content, such as audio overviews, mind maps, reports, research guides, and more, and saving them in one notebook.

The new look includes four tiles at the top of the studio panel to organize your content. Another added perk is the ability to simultaneously explore multiple generated outputs. For example, you can listen to an Audio Overview AI-Podcast and see previously unreleased study guides.
