New Delhi: YouTube has launched a new AI-based search feature on its platform. The feature is named AI Search Carousel, reported Dynamite News correspondent.
The purpose is to provide users with better and more accurate information, allowing them to understand the content of the video even before they watch it.
How does this new feature work?
According to YouTube, some premium YouTube users in the US are now able to use the new AI Search Carousel feature. When users shop, travel, or search for a specific location, a new interface will appear on the search results page. There is a large video clip at the top and a small video thumbnail underneath it. Also, all videos come with descriptions of text generated by AI.
Who will get this feature?
- This AI search Carousel is currently only available to YouTube Premium users.
- Currently, this feature only works with English videos on US Android and iOS devices.
- This trial will run until July 30th this year. YouTube can then be released for other countries and users.

In addition to this, YouTube has also expanded its conversational AI capabilities. This feature is now available to some non-premium users. Users can use this tool by tapping on the sparkle icon that appears in a button-like line on the video screen.
This AI feature is based on Google Gemini. This allows users to ask questions related to the video and get recommendations for other related videos. Currently it only works on Android devices.
