After more than 35 years in the business, Accenture offers consulting a new name called “Reinvention Services.”
The global consulting firm reported revenue on Friday, highlighting general positive performance for the third fiscal quarter of 2025. This time last year.
New bookings fell 6% compared to the third quarter of 2024, but Accenture CEO Julie Sweet told CNBC on Friday that the company is “really pleased” with the bookings, saying demand for its services will be seen in revenue.
Sweet said that AI is the most powerful bet for companies to create new demand, and to maximize AI's potential, companies are consolidating strategy, consulting, song, technology and operational services into a single unit known as “Reinvention Services.”
“What we're trying to do now is to make it even easier to bring these solutions, embedded data, and AI. So we can expand beyond our client base to new markets using reinvention services,” Sweet told CNBC.
Sometimes what a consultant does Explained, “reinvention services” are no exception.
In both her CNBC interview and Friday's revenue call, Sweet shared several examples of the company's AI-driven reinvention work.
In one example, Accenture said it was working with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri to launch its first AI-powered vessel in 2025.
Sweet told CNBC that the ship “can predict maintenance, manage energy usage on its own and talk to the dock” before it reaches its destination.
She says Accenture's work to modernize Bell's manufacturing process, a maker of cow cheese laughing, falls into this new division, so that collaboration with Brazilian mining company Vale will promote environmental licensing and permitting.
She also said the company is reducing the time and cost of developing marketing campaigns by creating AI-generated 3D avatars for coffee brands such as Nescafe, Dolce Gusto and Nespresso.
Sweet told CNBC that AI could be a “tool” to help businesses navigate the future, but it needs to be “disruptive” to benefit.
