University Park, Pennsylvania — Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) at Penn State University is accepting applications for the 2023-24 Faculty Engagement Award through April 19. This year’s theme is “Smart Tracking and Advanced Features for Remote Sync Courses”.
Faculty Engagement Award winners will receive an AI-powered webcam to use in their projects. Webcam state-of-the-art technology includes:
- Autoframing and autotracking
- Automatic exposure and lighting adjustment
- Anti-shake/Autofocus
- Gesture-controlled zoom and tracking
During the project, winners will work with instructional designers and technology support staff to identify possible uses and limitations of webcams and explore best practices for teaching in remote sync courses. In addition, TLT staff will help assess the impact of the technology and share relevant findings with the Penn State community.
