Microsoft will be adding a new Microsoft 365 Copilot Assistant to OneNote. The software giant first unveiled his Copilot for apps like Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint last month, demonstrating how note-taking can be impacted by an AI-powered assistant. ready to go.
Greg Mace, Product Manager for OneNote, explains:
Similar to Copilot’s integration into Word, AI assistants can rewrite, format, or summarize existing text in OneNote based on prompts in the sidebar interface. You can even ask the AI assistant to plan your event or generate meeting topics and talking points.
However, Microsoft has yet to show off Copilot’s inline integration in OneNote. The Word version can highlight paragraphs. When you hover over a section of a paragraph, Copilot his assistant appears and automatically displays the rewritten text.
Microsoft also hasn’t announced an exact date when Copilot will be available in OneNote. A small number of Microsoft 365 Enterprise customers are currently testing preview versions of Copilot in apps like Word and Outlook, and some of these early versions can now be enabled on beta copies of Word. .
I’ve been playing around with Copilot’s private preview in Word lately and am using it to generate text. It’s a very early implementation at the moment, so there are a lot of missing features that need sorting out before it’s ready for public preview. Microsoft is testing this thoroughly before rolling it out more broadly, and the company has yet to commit to a Copilot date.
